Our Labor & Delivery (L&D) program prides itself on offering personalized care from start to finish. You will stay in the beautiful, updated OB suites for labor, delivery, and recovery – no moving rooms after baby is born. Each room has a private bath with a jetted tub to use while in labor and during recovery. A squat bar, labor ball, and peanut ball are available for various positioning during labor. We make sure you and baby are as safe as possible during your stay with an updated central monitoring system and all the most up-to-date equipment, including wireless, waterproof monitors for during labor and a cart specifically for postpartum hemorrhages. After delivery, a massage therapist will provide a relaxing massage for mom, and you and your support person get a celebratory steak and shrimp dinner that’s heralded as one of the best in town. We staff a certified lactation consultant to assist with any breastfeeding needs.
Your OB nurses come to all your appointments starting at 28 weeks to provide education and so you get to know them and will comfortable and familiar with them during delivery. Our OB staff is on call 24/7 with a specific number you can call with any questions or concerns.
Our OB staff includes 4 providers – 3 family practice doctors and 1 certified nurse midwife. All of our doctors are trained to do cesarean sections if the need arises. We have 3 CRNAs that provide anesthesia 24/7 if you find yourself needing an epidural.

Safe Sleep for Infants
Caribou Medical Center is committed to supporting safe sleep for infants and reducing the risk of Sudden Unexpected Infant Death (SUID), which includes Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), accidental suffocation, and deaths from unknown causes. As a Certified Safe Sleep Hospital, CMC follows national guidelines, trains staff, and educates parents and caregivers on creating safe sleep environments. By practicing simple steps—placing babies Alone, on their Back, in a Crib—families and caregivers can greatly lower the risk of sleep-related infant deaths.
